Since we as a society seem to be entering the sociological stage of health care and welfare being provided for all, paid for by our taxes, there could be a case made for mandatory nutrition standards. When we were an infant country, people were totally responsible to pay for consequences of the risks that they took. If someone wanted to eat themselves to the point of bad health, only they had to pay the price of medical attention.

Today we are quite close to the point that the public at large is responsible for the health costs of those who chose unhealthy life styles. Why would mandatory health rules be a bad idea?

Back prior to this, in ancient times, like pre-1970, a weekly bath or twice-weekly bath was the norm in Western Societies. The majority of people changed their smalls daily and used a flannel on their pink bits. It wasn't that smelly.

We, had a little earthquake 4 years ago, and the water was off for a few weeks, it was not even noticeable that all of us were somewhat more pungent than usual.
